The Florham Park Library is pleased to offer several different book groups that meet regularly throughout the year. Are you interested in starting a new book group that meets at the library? Let us know about it! Email reference@flo.mainlib.org to make a suggestion.

Florham Park Public Library Book Club

Our longest running book group has been meeting for more than 20 years! We meet September through May every year. This group is split into two: The Evening Book Club, which meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm, and the Afternoon Book Club, which meets the third Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm. Every year we meet in June to decide together what the following year’s selections will be. We always have a good time! Send us an email to join and be sure to indicate whether you will attend the evening or the afternoon (or both!) group.

Here are the selections for the 2023/2024 Book Club:

Hot Titles Summer Book Group

This group meets in the Summer months to discuss the hottest titles of the year. We read bestsellers, award winners, and/or press darlings to determine if the books were really worth the hype! How many stars would you give these books? This year the Hot Titles Book Group meets on June 12, July 10, and August 14 at 7:00pm. Here are the Summer 2024 picks:

Cookbook Club

Our Cookbook Club meets the second Friday of the month at 12:00pm. Each meeting has a theme: either a special ingredient, a cooking technique, or a specific type of ethnic cuisine. We challenge each other to try one new recipe, and to share an old favorite each time. And, of course, we always share our recommendations for great new cookbooks to try out! Sign up to join the club on our event calendar. Here is our list of upcoming challenges:

  • October: Hearty and Healthy Autumn Recipes
  • November: Thanksgiving Desserts
  • December: What’s on Your Holiday Menu?
  • January: South Asian Flavors
  • February: One-Pot Meals
  • March: Pasta Favorites
  • April: Vegetarian and Vegan Mains
  • May: Fresh Summer Recipes
