Exciting news! In 2025, the MAIN Library Consortium will expand significantly, offering patrons access to thousands of additional materials. As part of this growth, ALL Main libraries will upgrade to a new computer system in March, including Florham Park Public Library. As we prepare for this transition, we are anticipating temporary disruptions to some services.
Holds Hiatus:
- Beginning Friday, February 14, 2025, no new holds on library materials to and from other Main libraries will be able to be placed until the new system is online.
- This temporary pause in holds will last through March 26.
- Any holds placed prior to February 14 will be honored.
- Patrons will still be able to place holds in Libby during this time.
- During this transition period, Florham Park Public Library patrons will still be able to visit and check out materials from other Main libraries.
Catalog Freeze:
- From March 21-24, the catalog will be frozen and will show outdated information. If you’re looking for an item, please call the library at (973) 377-2694 and we can confirm its availability.
- You may not be able to log in to the catalog during this time.
System Downtime:
- On Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23, the library will experience system downtime. During this time, you must have your library card with you in order to check out library materials. Library staff will not be able to “look you up.”
- You will still be able to use the Main Mobile app as your library card.
- From Friday, March 21 through Sunday, March 23 you will not be able to sign up for a new library card, or renew an expired card.
Room Reservations, Library of Things, and Museum Passes:
- New meeting and study room reservations will not be able to be created between Friday, March 21 and Monday, March 24. Study Rooms will be first-come, first-serve.
- Library of Things and Museum Passes will be unavailable Friday, March 21 through Monday, March 24.
Digital Resources:
- Between Friday, March 21 and Monday, March 24, some library digital resources will be unavailable for use.
- Platforms like Libby, Kanopy, Hoopla, and Freegal may log you out of your account, and you may not be able to log back in until the new system goes live.
- Your PIN may also change. Please reach out to us at the Library and we can assist you with obtaining the correct information to proceed with regular library digital resource usage.
New System Goes Live:
- On Monday, March 24, the new system will go live, and the catalog will show current information.
- You may resume placing holds on items on March 26.
- In the first few days following the system upgrade, there may be additional interruptions to services. During these days we will be hard at work restoring access as quickly as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience!
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR PIN:

- Click on “Account” at the top of the page. This will direct you to the catalog.
- Click on “Sign in” at the top right-hand corner of the page. A dialog box will appear.

- Enter your library barcode number (this is the number on the back of your library card) and click on the “reset my PIN” button.

- Log in to the email associated with your library card. You will receive an email with the subject line “Reset PIN.” Open this message and click the link where it says “CREATE NEW PIN.”
